About Me

Hey y'all!

My name is Allyson Sutton and I am a 2nd grade teacher (hints the name of my blog, ha!).  After graduating from Meredith College in May 2011, I received a job 2 days later!  It was the only job I had applied for - I completed 2 interviews, and then got a call 2 days after graduation offering me a job in 2nd grade - my dream!  I have been in the same grade, same classroom, for four years, and LOVE it!  Every year, I change up my classroom - so no 2 years have been the same.

In October 2013, I uploaded my first product to TPT - my Polar Express unit.  It took off like a rocket between then and Christmas and I was hooked!  I love the cha-ching on my phone and the excitement of sharing something I had made with teachers all over the world.  The following February, I started this blog as a way to connect with other teachers and share my resources.  I have always created activities and decorations for my classroom because I just didn't see what I wanted in a teacher store, and I just liked adding that personal touch to my classroom.

I LOVE Disney and grew up a Disney kid.  No, we didn't got to Disney every year, but I went several times throughout my school years and have continued those trips with my dad during my school track-outs.  He will ride most of the rides with me, so he is my theme-park buddy ;)

We've got 2 cats at home, but my girl, Maggie, spends most of her time with me.  If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen her many times.

So that's a little about me!  I'm a Christ-follower, teacher, blogger, and TPTer.  I love traveling (to Disney, of course!), cheering on my NC State Wolfpack, spending time with my family, wasting way to much time on my laptop, creating classroom resources/materials, Coke Zero, Red Robin, the color green, texting my bestie, and so much more!!

  1. Hi Allyson,

When your students shop for their Dojo rewards...do you go in through Dojo and delete those points for the money spent? How does that part work exactly? Love your blog and the resources here! Excited to try out the TpT Dojo System we bought from you in our classroom!

    1. No, I do not delete any points on Class Dojo's website. All of their points to be spent are added/deducted from their credit card. I laminate the card and use a Sharpie to write their amount and use a Mr. Clean to erase and change the amount when they add money or spend money.

  3. I have a question about your digital Daily 5 schedules...so you have them available for use by others? I really love how you have your Daily 5 set up and I love that the schedules are projectable instead of paper!
